A catalogue page can be an excellent destination for a buyer who needs to compare models and a poor input for a tool that needs one product to describe. Those judgments are compatible. TikTok's October 2026 Recommended Creatives documentation requires a valid single-product URL and says that multi-product URLs are not currently supported. A page loading successfully does not establish that it is the right kind of input.
This is a requirement of the documented recommendation workflow, not a rule that every advertisement must lead to a single-product page. International teams working with Chinese manufacturers should choose the creative task first. A factory introduction, a model-selection guide and an advertisement for a particular machine ask the production system to do different things. They should not be forced through the same input merely because an automated option is available.
Decide what the advertisement is about
A product-category page deliberately brings several objects together. It may show different capacities, materials, accessories and use cases so that a visitor can decide which detail page to open. A generated advertisement needs a more definite subject. If information from those objects is blended, the resulting script can describe a product that does not actually exist as one available configuration.
The single-product requirement reduces that ambiguity, but it does not validate the page's claims. A page can still mix a base machine with optional attachments, display a different version in its hero image or place several price conditions beside one broad product name. The input is clearer only when those relationships are understandable to a person who has not attended the internal product briefing.
Ask the product owner to identify the subject of the proposed advertisement from the page alone. Which configuration is being discussed? Which images show it? Are accessories included or merely compatible? If the answers require a separate chat history, the destination is not yet doing enough explanatory work. That is a content problem to resolve before requesting more creative variations.
Custom pricing does not need to be converted into a fictional universal price to make the page look complete. Explain the information required for a quotation and preserve the relevant conditions. A clear conditional offer is more useful to a buyer than an attractive amount that applies only to a configuration hidden elsewhere. The same information also gives the production team a more reliable basis for scripts and captions.
Keep comparison content in the comparison journey
If the intended message concerns an entire factory or a range of machines, manually planned content may fit the brief better than a single-product recommendation tool. If the message concerns one standard component or one machine, choose the corresponding page. This is a choice about the subject of the content, not a reason to remove a useful catalogue or pretend that a multi-model selection problem has only one answer.
Our discussion of product comparisons that explain when a choice changes addresses the role of the comparison page. It should remain available when a buyer needs to evaluate alternatives. The single-product page can explain the selected object without carrying every comparison that might occur across the wider range.
There is also a scheduling implication. TikTok notes that some AI-generated recommendations for a first-time destination may need about 24 hours of pre-generation. Treat that as a documented possibility rather than a universal delivery deadline. The production schedule still needs time to inspect the result. Submitting a URL does not mean that a usable finished advertisement is ready, and a missing result is not a reason to cycle through unrelated destinations.
When recommendations arrive, compare the picture, spoken or written claim, and destination against the same product. A recommendation is a candidate asset. It does not establish that an attachment is standard equipment or that a depicted application has been verified. Resolve a disputed product fact with the responsible supplier contact rather than merely changing the wording until it sounds less specific.
A broader campaign can contain several product-specific assets: one explains the smaller machine's application, another introduces a different configuration. When a buyer needs to compare them, provide the comparison route rather than asking one generated advertisement to perform both tasks. The catalogue remains useful; it simply has a different job from the input for this particular recommendation workflow.
