TikTok For Business's Q3 Product Preview, published on July 28, describes TopReach Max Reach as a combined TopView and TopFeed buy designed to maximize daily unique reach within a selected audience. TikTok says it uses automated priority logic and supports age, gender and interest targeting. The update also states that TopReach Max Reach is available through an allowlist in selected regions. For a B2B exporter, reducing duplicate exposure can make a reach number more interpretable, but it still does not answer the commercial question: were the right companies and the required procurement, technical, finance and management roles actually covered?

Unique people are not unique target accounts

The platform deduplicates users. B2B sales organizes work around companies, projects and buying groups. Ten unique users could belong to one organization, or all ten could be outside the target industry. One target account may contain several people with different authority and evidence needs.

Do not rename platform unique reach as account penetration. Before activation, define the account hypothesis: industry, country, company profile, application, buying stage and exclusion conditions. Platform audience controls are a discovery approximation. Website behavior, declared company information and sales review provide later evidence.

Keep anonymous reach data and identified account data separate. Connecting them requires a legitimate data path and appropriate privacy controls. An impression should not be presented as a known company visit when the identity has not been established.

Different roles require different evidence

Procurement may focus on price structure, supplier stability and terms. Engineering may need operating limits, specifications and validation methods. Finance may review payment and counterparty conditions. Management may want risk, implementation and responsibility boundaries.

One broad video is unlikely to complete every task. Create role-specific content modules while keeping product names and approved claims consistent. A technical demonstration can lead to a specification or test-method page. A sourcing discussion can lead to capacity, quality-control and delivery evidence. A management explanation can lead to scope, milestones and escalation rules.

The next step after reach is not always a quotation form. A useful evidence page may be the correct progression for an early-stage role. Preserve the terminology used in the video and destination so the visitor does not have to reinterpret the offer.

Give coverage a denominator and time window

Define a named-account list where it is lawful and practical, or at least a reviewable account universe based on market and company criteria. Then distinguish reached audience, identified target accounts, observed role coverage, evidence-page activity and items requiring human follow-up. A reach total without an account denominator cannot express coverage.

TopReach is described around daily unique reach, while many B2B decisions unfold over weeks or months. A daily view can detect frequency and delivery anomalies. Weekly and monthly views are more suitable for examining whether account and role evidence is accumulating. Never merge those windows without noting the difference.

Use a decision memo before the campaign. State what would justify continuing, narrowing or stopping the test, and which evidence is insufficient for an account-level conclusion. This prevents the team from changing the interpretation after seeing the result.

What this means for Chinese exporters

Chinese exporters using TikTok for B2B acquisition can easily import consumer-advertising metrics into a long decision chain. Unique reach is an upstream media signal. Commercial usefulness depends on identifying relevant account patterns, serving evidence to the right roles and handing off only what sales can verify.

Feature availability also matters. An allowlist or selected-market release is not a universal operating capability. Confirm actual access before planning a workflow and do not use abnormal methods to obtain a feature that the platform has not enabled.
