Google's August 26 update says Gemini Live is moving beyond conversation into multi-step work. A user can speak a task that spans Docs, Sheets, Drive and the web, while some jobs continue over days or weeks. Connected applications and prior context can help the assistant carry work forward. The immediate examples are personal productivity features, but the operating pattern matters to global B2B suppliers: a buyer may increasingly delegate research, comparison and preparation to an agent instead of reading every page directly. A supplier website therefore needs more than persuasive copy. It needs a clear boundary between information an agent may use and actions a person must confirm.

Turn a product page into a reliable task input

A conventional product page is organized for reading. An agent preparing a shortlist needs stable fields it can place into a comparison, requirements document or meeting agenda. Model, configuration, application, market scope, document version and update date should be explicit rather than buried in a paragraph.

The page should also separate fixed facts from conditional information. A material grade may be fixed for one model, while lead time may depend on destination, quantity and customization. A sample use case is not an applicable specification. If those roles are not labeled, an agent can carry a marketing example into a procurement document as if it were a committed condition.

Machine readability does not require exposing every internal field. It requires giving each public fact a stable name, value, scope and source. That structure improves both human scanning and agent extraction.

Classify actions by permission and consequence

Downloading a public specification, comparing two models and drafting questions are low-risk actions. Submitting personal details, creating an inquiry, scheduling a meeting or uploading a drawing involves identity and data handling. Accepting a quotation, confirming a sample or changing commercial terms belongs to a different authorization level.

The site should make these distinctions visible in button labels, form instructions and any machine-facing interface. “Submit inquiry with these attachments” is more informative than “Continue.” The page should state what information will be stored, what happens after submission and whether the requester can withdraw or correct it.

An agent must not receive a shortcut around login, consent or confirmation. The useful design is a predictable handoff: the agent can prepare the action and present the relevant facts, while an authorized person confirms the consequential step.

Add update clocks and expiry rules for long-running work

A task that runs for several days may outlive the facts it collected. Availability, document scope, certification status, delivery assumptions and contact ownership can change. Important fields need an update date or validity rule so a returning agent can test whether its earlier input is still current.

Superseded files should carry a clear state and a link to the current version. If a specification changes, publish a concise change note and preserve the identifier of the old version. This prevents an agent from combining a current page with an obsolete attachment.

The same rule applies to a saved inquiry draft. Before it is submitted, the site can require a refresh of time-sensitive fields and show what changed. Long-running automation becomes safer when expiry is part of the content model, not an afterthought.

Make confirmation understandable to people and agents

Before a high-impact action, show the object, version, requester identity, attachments and intended recipient. A person should be able to understand the confirmation without reconstructing the previous conversation. An agent should be able to detect that it has reached a boundary instead of treating another generic button as permission.

Some requests should stop earlier. A non-standard product, a regulated destination, conflicting specifications or missing buyer information may require human review. The page can state which evidence is missing and offer an escalation path. Correctly stopping is part of a useful buyer journey.

What this means for Chinese exporters

An international buyer's agent can copy supplier facts into internal workflows at a speed no sales team controls. Ambiguous conditions can therefore spread from one page into a comparison sheet, meeting brief and inquiry draft before a person notices the issue.

Chinese exporters should prioritize high-intent pages rather than adding a conversational widget everywhere. Product detail, document download, inquiry and meeting-booking flows create the practical action contract. When their facts, permissions and versions agree, the site becomes easier for both human buyers and delegated agents to use responsibly.
